What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with the following experience, qualifications and /or skillsets:
- Bachelor’s degree, B.ED./PGCE Advantageous
- Honours / Master\'s degree or other postgraduate qualification in content/curriculum development.
- SACE registration
- Subject Head – 3 – 5 years
- Previous management experience
The responsibilities are:
Management, planning and design of the overall curriculum development
- Planning and strategizing for the future development and growth of the subject area.
- Development of the specific model and assistance in problem solving in new product development.
- Assessing requirements for curriculum development.
- Reviewing of developed materials, assessing quality, and providing feedback.
- Assessing alignment to e-learning (relevant) pathways.
- Gathering of feedback on materials from schools and learners as the efficacy of the materials.
- Designing, developing, and implementing educator training and relevant training that may impact on curriculum delivery.
- Coordinating and collaboratively managing communities of practice within relevant subject/phase area to strengthen the subject offering/best practice across all our brands.
Curriculum Design and Development
- Curate, design, create and develop subject content and learning materials (position specific).
- Design, develop and evaluate learning paths and programmes. (This includes setting of Assessments across examination bodies). (position specific).
- Design of e-learning content and synchronous learning resources and activities for relevant subjects across the e-learning platform (position specific).
- Ensure that planning of assessments is aligned to all Curro offerings.
- Design and implement moderation instruments to ensure standardisation across the brands.
- Development and innovation of subject curricula offered by Curro.
- Develop and/or coordinate learning support material for use in the specific Curro brand.
- Collaborate with service providers to support curriculum delivery.
- Work across different projects that are implemented as required in cooperation with other functions within the broader curriculum support structures as directed by the Curriculum Heads.
- Participate in research projects that are prioritized by the specific brand offering.
- Analyse data from administrative and learning management systems.
- Ongoing Professional Development (PD) to remain on the cutting edge of changes in portfolio.
- Define requirements for the commissioning of relevant support equipment to implement course.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Accountable to the Curriculum Head to collect, analyse and use data to inform, monitor and evaluate planning, pedagogical practices, and interventions.
- Identify positive and challenging trends in the schools’ academic results and engage with schools on how to address the challenges effectively.
- Monitor the reports from subject/phase specialists at schools, engage and give feedback on relevant matters via virtual meeting or during / following school visits.
- Monitoring the implementation of the Curro academic policies and supporting documentation.
- Provide feedback to curriculum heads and curriculum executive on the implementation of policies and academic results as and if required.
- Focus on moderation especially, if schools require assistance, or input and evaluate where there may be gaps.
- Visit schools as required and conduct controls to ensure that curriculum is followed at schools.
Compliance, including quality assurance.
- Accountable to the Curriculum Head in supporting schools with compliance to various standardization and regulatory bodies. (i.e., NSC and IEB, and therefore, UMALUSI)
- Report on compliance across subjects.
- Provide input to schools to maintain accreditation.
The successful candidate will start on 01 January 2025.
